Blair collected 15 businesses to represent Pigeon Lake & area at the Mayfield Inn, which took up an impressive 50 feet of displays. An awesome slideshow of pictures showing the Pigeon Lake area, some from as far as Hidden Springs was created and it played all day. Thanks to Black Bull Golf Course for creating this masterpiece!
The show was well attended, the Edmonton Journal reported 4300 attendees. We knew there were a lot of visitors when our 500 Village At Pigeon Lake Shopping Bags were gone before noon! We talked to a lot of people about all the fun things there are to do at Pigeon Lake and we are confidant that we have attracted new visitors for the 2011 season!
Way To Go Blair!

Blair's Summary:
The Summer Travel Show, sponsored by the Edmonton Journal and City T.V., experienced a high level of success with approximately 4300 visitors from the Edmonton region attending it’s premier offering in 2011. The Pigeon Lake Region was represented well by the Regional Chamber of Commerce and 13 businesses - making up a very colourful and impressive booth area starting right at the entrance to the show and stretching over a 50’ area. Pre-advertising by the Journal for the Travel Show in the full month of April highlighted Pigeon Lake front and centre and provided excellent exposure of our colourful and eye-catching ½ page ad on the front page of their special edition insert.
Overall, a very successful start to the Chamber promoting the Pigeon Lake Region to families from the Edmonton region and encouraging increased levels of tourist visits and stays.
